We are fortunate to have a large membership of the Friends, currently 3000, many of whom take an active role in our fund-raising activities.
This can be either as a volunteer in the hospital, perhaps in one of our shops, or elsewhere, or as a part of other fund-raising events outside such as the fete or open gardens.
Talking to our volunteers it is obvious that they get back as much from their activities as we receive in their valuable time and input to the charity. It is most definitely a two way process and we could not achieve our goals without them.
If you have a few hours a week, or month, to spare please consider joining us and making a real difference. However, becoming a member does not commit you to helping us, and you will receive our newsletter, Hospitality, every quarter.
Many of our members join because they, or a friend or relative, have received such outstanding care during their time in the hospital, and it is their way of saying thank you.
When a new piece of equipment has been installed, or a refurbishment has taken place, the staff involved are always keen to show us how much the work of the Friends is appreciated. Often this would not be possible without our funding, and in return we could not raise such fantastic sums without our members and volunteers.
If you would like to join us please download the application form and return it to me with your subscription. If you pay tax please consider filling in the Gift Aid form, and we can reclaim 25p in every £ of your subscription at no cost to you.
