Mr Lloyd lost a lot of his hearing as a child and is a former trustee of
the Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID), which is the
largest charity in the UK for tackling hearing loss.
The
audiology department deal with people with a variety of hearing
difficulties and hold regular drop-in sessions to help people repair and
maintain hearing aids.
Mr Lloyd
said: “I have been dealing with hearing loss that requires hearing aids
for over 20 years now. As a former trustee of the RNID, I worked hard
to ensure digital hearing aids were available on the NHS and I know how
much of a difference they have made.
“Our
local audiology unit has been going for a long time and the staff do
great work for local patients. It is one of the most well established in
the UK and I’m committed to doing everything I can to ensure it
prospers for many years to come.”
