Cornary Care Unit praised for excellent hand hygiene
The Coronary Care Unit at Eastbourne District General Hospital has been praised for its high standards of hand hygiene.
The unit was presented with the Trust’s monthly Hand Hygiene Champion
Cup after putting measures in place to improve infection control.
The department’s link nurse, Kerry Pilbeam, has
highlighted and carried out hand hygiene awareness sessions and has been
proactive in promoting good infection control prevention.
Link nurses such as Kerry help the infection control team monitor and implement good hand hygiene within ward areas.
The Hand Hygiene Champion Cup is awarded monthly to
recognise excellence in hand hygiene and to promote healthy competition
between wards around the Trust.
