Golfers tee off for Pevensey Ward
A
group of golfers teed off to raise money for the cancer ward at Eastbourne DGH
as a thank you for the excellent care provided to one of their
players.
East
Sussex Nomads Golfing Society donated £1,600 to Pevensey Ward from money raised
from a charity golf day.
One of
the society’s players, Chris Thomas, was treated in Pevensey Ward and helped
organise the event, along with wife Avril, Linda Butcher and Eddie
Lovegrove.
Chris
said: “We wanted to do something in recognition of the excellent care on the
ward. I received superb treatment and we are pleased we could give a little
back.”
The
day was held at Heaver Castle Golf Course and 64 players took part. The Nomads
Golfing Society have been going for 14 years and play at different locations
across East Sussex.
