Mr Armitage has been involved in the regular teaching of medical students since qualifying, both in teaching Hospitals (St Thomas’, Kings, Oxford and Royal Perth Hospital) and in District General Hospitals.
As a Registrar he was regularly involved in the postgraduate teaching of House Officers and Senior House Officers in the Accident and Emergency Department, and in Orthopaedics.
Mr Armitage has organised and chaired regular Journal Clubs for SHO’s, Registrars and Consultants in Brighton, Tunbridge Wells, Hastings and Eastbourne over the past five years.
ATLS instructor and instruct on two to three courses a year.
Regularly lectures to the Southeast Thames Registrars for their Orthopaedic core training programme over the last five years.
Instrumental in running the Orthopaedic Diploma course in 1999 with Professor Heatley.
As the Trauma Fellow at Royal Perth Hospital he regularly taught and supervised the trainee registrars, and helped the senior trainees with their preparation for the orthopaedic exit exam.
