Mr Dunning’s surgical training was undertaken on the South East Thames rotational training scheme and completed this in 2009 having worked at Guys and St Thomas’, Kings College, Frimley Park, Darent Valley and the Kent and Sussex Hospital. He had previously worked in Orthopaedics at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, The Royal Free Hospital and Kingston Hospital.
Mr Dunning has completed a 12 month fellowship at The Royal Bournemouth Hospital, performing complex fore and hind-foot surgery, tendon reconstruction and total ankle replacement surgery. Mr Dunning spent time in 2009 in the United States observing Dr VJ Sammarco at the Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic centre learning complex foot and ankle procedures as the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society’s Travelling Fellow.
As the 10th Orthopaedic Consultant Surgeon appointed at Conquest Hosptial, Mr Dunning will complement the team with his specialist interested in foot and ankle surgery. Joining East Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust he said “It is a pleasure to join such a highly regarded department and I hope the new skills I bring to the trust will further improve the Orthopaedic service available to the local community.”
