Routine Childhood Immunisation programme

It is recommended that every child has the full course of vaccinations as displayed in the table below. Children are no longer routinely given a BCG vaccination. Only children who regualry travel abroad to certain countries or who are in close contact with people that travel abroad need to be vaccinated.

When to immunise Diseases protected against Vaccine Given
Two months old Diptheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, Hib, Pneumococcal Infection DTaP/IPV/HIB and PCV
Three months old Diptheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, Hib, Meningitis C DTaP/IPV/HIB and MenC
Four months Old Diptheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, Hib, Pneumococcal Infection, Meningitis C DTaP/IPV/HIB and PCV and MenC
 Around 12 months Hib and Meningitis C Hib/MenC
 Around 13 months Measles, Mumps and Rubella, and Pneumococcal Infection MMR and PCV
Three years and four months or soon after Diptheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, Measles, Mumps and Rubella DTaP/IPV or dtaP/IPV and MMR
Girls aged 12 to 13 years Cervical Cancer caused by human papillomavirus types 16 & 18 Gardasil
13 to 18 years old Tetanus, diptheria and polio Td/IPV
